I knew Lorin through her community involvement as a volunteer with Community Works which is a volunteer run event for non-profits and volunteers which provides networking and professional development for non-profits. Lorin was a committed volunteer who offered both her professional experience in workshops and was instrumental in the months of planning that leads up to this event. I admired Lorin on many fronts as a friend and also as a young person, Lorin was a reminder of the promising future young people have to offer to all of us as a community and as a nation. The impact of her short life will be noticed for years to come along with the pain that such loss accompanies. My heart and sympathy is for all her family and friends.

To the Maurer Family,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Lorin and I wish you much strength during this difficult time. I was one of her roommates senior year at Rowan University and she was such a wonderful and caring person. Everytime I saw her she always had a smile on her face and she made everyone happy around her. She will be greatly missed.
